GM wheat
Event-specific method for detection and identification of GM wheat MON71200
Following the findings of unauthorised plants of GM wheat MON71200 on an access road in Southern Alberta, Canada, the EURL GMFF has been requested to assess and verify a method for detection and identification of MON71200. The report on the testing of the method, developed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), can be found below.
Testing strategy for MON71800 wheat
Following the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announcement that test results confirm the finding of unauthorised GM glyphosate-resistant wheat "volunteer" plants in a farm in Oregon, the European Union Reference Laboratory for Genetically Modified Food and Feed (EURL GMFF) has developed, in collaboration with the European Network of GMO Laboratories (ENGL), a testing strategy intended to be immediately implementable by EU official control laboratories.
