GMOMETHODS terms and conditions

This EU Database of Reference Methods for GMO Analysis has been developed by the Joint Research Centre as European Union Reference Laboratory for GM Food and Feed (EU-RL GMFF), in collaboration with the European Network of GMO Laboratories (ENGL).

It aims at providing a list of reference methods for GMO analysis that have been:

  • validated in a collaborative trial, according to the principles and requirements of ISO 5725 and/or IUPAC protocol

or

  • verified by the EURL GMFF in the context of compliance with a EU legislative act.

All efforts have been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate and correct but no responsibility can be taken for the data and information reported in the GMOMETHODS database and the related PDF Summary.

The JRC does not own any Intellectual Property on the data and information reported in the method validation publication. Such data and information are owned by the method developers. Some legal provisions on confidentiality and data protection are provided in article 30 and article 31 respectively of Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003.

The European Union disclaims all implied representations and warranties, including any warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The entire risk as to the use, interpretation and fitness for a particular concrete purpose is with the user. Under no circumstance the European Union, the European Commission and/or any natural person acting on behalf of these entities shall be liable for any incidental, consequential, direct or indirect damages including but not limited to structural failure, loss of profits, or any other financial loss arising from the use of, or inability to use the data or any other matter relating to the service.

Licensing

Event-specific methods submitted by applicants (including the whole process from extraction up to the PCR technique) are shared only for the purpose of GMO control activities in the European Union, according to Articles 30 and 31 of Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003. Any other use of this information must first be requested and approved by the method developer. The API description, validation data, and other content produced by the Joint Research Centre are shared under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
