CDC Triffid flax (FP967)

Disclaimer

The method below was developed by Genetic ID NA, Inc. as a “NOST-Spec Construct-specific method for the detection of the CDC Triffid Flax (Event FP967) Using Real-time PCR”. The method was transmitted to the European Union Reference Laboratory for GM Food and Feed (EURL GMFF) of the European Commission Joint Research Centre by the German Authorities. The information given in this document is made publicly available as received with no further modifications. The EURL GMFF cannot be held responsible for the truthfulness of the information provided in this document. The entire risk as to the use, quality, analytical results, and performance of the method is with the final user of the method.

Update 4 November 2009

The original protocol has been replaced by version 3.0, which has been transmitted by Genetic ID to the European Commission on October 30th, 2009. This version specifies the use of 200mg as the size of the test portion used for the nucleic acid extraction, rather than 100mg in the previous edition. The protocol also refers to the use of the silica membrane column-based Fast ID Genomic DNA Extraction kit. It must be emphasised that the European Union Reference Laboratory for GM Food and Feed has verified only the PCR module (see report attached below) and has neither verified nor validated the DNA extraction kit mentioned.
